 Tina Davis, the woman TMZ identified as the person who sent Chris Brown the text message that ignited the infamous fight with Rihanna, is firing back at suggestions the text was of an “intimate nature.”
Davis just issued the following statement through her lawyer, Marshall B. Grossman:
“The relationship between Ms. Davis and Mr. Brown is that of manager and client. There has never been any other relationship. The rumors in circulation are false. There are no emails between Ms. Davis and Mr. Brown of the type which have been described in media reports.
If the source of the false rumors is identified, legal action will be taken. Given the nature of the legal issues affecting Mr. Brown, Ms. Davis will not be making any further statements.”

 Chris Brown is officially letting Nickelodeon off the hook, and taking himself off the list of nominees at the upcoming Kids’ Choice Awards.
In a statement, his rep says:
“Chris very much appreciates the support of his fans and the honor they have paid him in the way of nominations for Favorite Male Singer and Favorite Song.
Unfortunately, the controversy surrounding the incident last month has shifted the focus from the music to whether he should be allowed to be among those nominated.
While Chris would like to speak to his fans directly about this and other issues, pending legal proceedings preclude his doing so at this time. Once the matter before him has been resolved, he intends to do so.”
A rep for Nickelodeon tells us: “We are confirming that Chris Brown has decided to withdraw his nominations from the Kids’ Choice Awards. We agree with and respect his decision, and are looking forward to presenting a great event for our audience.”

Nothing like a bunch of “old rumors” to get the gossip mill churning.
The father of Chris Brown’s manager, Tina Davis, calls the latest round of speculation that his daughter is having a romantic relationship with Brown nothing but “old rumors.”
“They were saying that before,” George Davis told E! News Tuesday when contacted at his Viejo, Calif., home. “Those are old rumors.”
Yes they are.
Brown and Davis were first supposedly hooking up in 2005, when the “Run It” singer was 16—a supposition that was immediately shot down by Brown’s camp.
“Chris Brown and his manager, Tina Davis, have a strictly professional relationship,” a rep for Brown said in a statement to Vibe magazine in November 2007, responding to rumors that they had been romantically involved for two years.
“Ms. Davis has been instrumental in helping Chris achieve success as a multi-talented singer/dancer/actor. Rumors that the relationship goes beyond a working one, are not only patently false; they diminish her efforts and his undeniable talents.”
Meanwhile, TMZ.com claims that Davis is the woman whose text message played a role in the Feb. 8 altercation between Brown and Rihanna.
An affidavit filed by a Los Angeles police detective on the case states that, before their fight turned violent, Rihanna “picked up Brown’s cellular telephone and observed a three page text message from a woman who Brown had a previous sexual relationship with.”
The messenger went unnamed in the official documents, but the identity could potentially come out—authorities have subpoenaed phone records—if Brown is unable to work out a plea deal and the case progresses.

Nickelodeon says it has no plans to remove Chris Brown as a nominee for its annual Kids’ Choice Awards, despite the singer’s felony charges for allegedly beating up his girlfriend Rihanna.
Brown is nominated for favorite male singer and favorite song for “Kiss Kiss.” He’ll be competing in the latter category with Rihanna, who police say was allegedly punched, bitten and choked by Brown last month.
An online petition asking Nickelodeon to remove Brown and Rihanna as nominees had 2,166 signatures Tuesday. Nick says Brown was nominated for his work as a performer, and kids will decide who wins.
The awards are scheduled for March 28.

Chris Brown isn’t letting a couple of felony charges get in the way of his game. We got video yesterday of Brown at Tyrese’s apartment building in downtown L.A., shooting hoops on the indoor court. That’s Chris in the blue. After the game Chris and company chowed down on pizza.
A Brown source tells us Chris was supposed to leave town after his court hearing on Thursday, but wanted to stay with Rihanna over the weekend. And, we’re told, the feeling was mutual. As the source put it — “They are together and very much in love.”

Sources tell TMZ Chris Brown would cop a plea, but only to a misdemeanor and with no jail time. After we broke the story yesterday AM it has triggered a passionate public reaction.
We’re told Brown’s people have consulted with outside legal eagles — including law school professors — who have said Rihanna’s own aggressiveness takes it out of the felony category. Sources say Rihanna was the first one to strike — slapping and striking Brown “numerous times” while he was driving, after seeing the text message from another woman. And Rihanna was fighting Brown as he punched and hurt her. We’re told much of this is reflected in the official police report based on what Rihanna told cops. As a result, they say, this is not a case that demands a felony plea.
On the other side, there are plenty of cases in which the woman engages the man in a fight but the jury convicts the male because it was an unfair fight and the man could have walked away. The photographs of Rihanna — the most graphic of which have not been seen by the public — demonstrate Brown’s superior strength. Add to that the fact that Brown had no significant injuries and it presents problems for him.
Perhaps worse for Brown, sources tell TMZ Rihanna told cops he had beaten her before and the violence had been escalating.
And there’s this. According to the detective’s note filed with the search warrant papers, Brown sent a text message to Rihanna’s assistant in which he apologized for what he had done to Rihanna and said he was getting help. That would be admissible in court and extremely damaging — as a legal admission.

Los Angeles (E! Online) – Here’s one recording Chris Brown won’t mind sharing with the public.
E! News has learned that Brown is hard at work on a new album while in Los Angeles.
The 19-year-old R&B singer has been spotted at Glenwood Place studios in Burbank throughout the week, after dark, usually very late at night. Brown was also seen laying down tracks at a studio in Miami two weeks ago while he and Rihanna were reportedly reconciling at Diddy’s mansion.
On Friday, a judge issued a criminal protective order ordering Brown to keeps his hands off his on-again 21-year-old girlfriend and allowing Rihanna to record any of their future phone conversations.

 Chris Brown and his attorney Mark Geragos did not enter a plea to the two felony charges. The judge granted Brown’s request for a continuance to April 6th.
It is unclear why they wanted to postpone the case — possibly to conduct further investigations or possibly to strike a plea deal. We just don’t know…
Based on our information, it seems Brown wants to avoid a trial at all costs because the picture of Rihanna taken one day after the incident — which has not been seen anywhere publicly — is unbelievable.
The judge admonished Brown in open court, saying “You are not to annoy, harass, molest, threaten or use force or violence against anyone.”
The judge asked Mark Geragos if there was a “no-contact order” in place, to which Geragos replied, “Miss Fenty [Rihanna] does not request such an order.”
Rihanna’s attorney, Donald Etra, was also in court. Etra is famous for repping Snoop Dogg in multiple cases over the years.
