I contact a radio station, claim they are playing his music waiting for him to come out with singles. I said what is wrong with the radio stations not playing his music fraid Jayz might shut them down, all the mean stuff he has done in life, challenge him he will flee. Also, RECORD COMPANIES pay for spins also, so it’s not just requesting(don’t be deceived). I agree that Jive also, don’t seem to be supporting the project as they should. There are plenty of artists who get spins but no sales or chart postioning.
I just spent the last 1 1/2 hrs. requesting around the country on the link. Perhaps we can each spend at least 30 min. per day doing the same thing. I don’t want Chris to become a just a”underground mixtape artist” either.

You are right Secret Voice. Unless there is something that we don’t know, Chris needs some tough, savvy fighters on his team. There are too many people who want him to overcome this hurdle for him not to get past this. Lena, the reason some of us think that Chris should explain what happened is that it is the reason why he cannot move ahead. As much as people request his songs, the folks at the stations cannot get past the image they made in their heads of that night, and each time they think of him, they think of that. That is what must be changed. The only way to do that is to change the picture they have in their heads. You may not like to think about it, but a whole year has passed and nothing much has changed.

Plus, why should Chris name always be associated with the whole mess, with no record anywhere for people now or later to go to for a correct story. We’re talking about his legacy here…that’s important too. At least later people can say, “but Chris later said it went this way”. So there is an optional story for them to consider. Right now, there is nothing except her version. That’s a problem that will continue to mess people up no matter what you do if it is not addressed. I request, but the song is not even on checklist for the Chicago station request choices. We need to strategize – make more NOISE. CALL these stations. Send faxes. Write to MANAGERS. Create a petition to circulate (word carefully – I’ll help but I’m not good at digital stuff). GO to the stations – in groups – with signs (made with class). Get physical. Its called organizing. OK I called another local radio station this morning @5 and they were willing to play his new single and they said the problem was they didnt know he had a single out. So at around 12 noon they are going to play SLM as a new joint every hour today and they are also adding TAKE MY TIME and FAMOUS GIRL into the rotation. I just checked the radio station playlist request page and both Take My Time and Famous Girl are there I think they played them already but SLM wont be added until later on or 2 marrow since it’s a new joint.
*My cousin’s BF is a DJ there so it was a little easier hehe*

OK I just called another station and got in after the 5th time. I really hate this station and I dont listen to them but I called anyway. They told me they were debating but it’s looking good. Like last week they had a debate on the radio whether or not Chris’ music should be played and based off the public votes 89% said yes and 11%said no. So I asked them about playing his new single and again “We didnt know he had a new song” Then they had the nerve to say how about we play his old song instead. I wanted to cuss him out. But I didnt and like literally begged them to play his new songs.
They said once they get the song they will play and depending on the responses if they will continue to play it. 2marrow isFRESH FRIDAY MUSIC so they are going to play it 2marrow. The responses should be good since people want him on the radio.

Like I really think the problem is the radio station like it’s their choice just like and 106 and park. People want him on the radio it’s just stations are refusing. But Im going to continue to call and beg and do everything.

I agree that maybe it is a little bit of Jive’s fault like what are the people over at Jive doing? The intent of this letter is to request that Chris Brown’s music be allowed airplay on your station. For over a year we, his fans, have been requesting that songs from his catalog, both old and new, be played to no avail. In the initial stages we understood, considering the severity of his actions, why there would be reluctance to do so. Now over a year removed, enough is enough.

We are taught by our culture and the morality that guides us a people that to err is human but so long as there is acknowledgment of the failure, admittance of guilt, acceptance of punishment, and growth and rehabilitation then we’re allowed to move forward, free of the shackle of our past sins. It’s time that ideal and grace be given over to Chris. There is no intent to downplay or minimize what happened, we couldn’t even if we wanted to, but the time to judge has passed. What would this world be if all who contributed to art as a culture and a living, growing entity through the centuries were erased, banned, and blacklisted for their personal foibles? Picasso’s paintings would not be hanging on museum walls. Ray Charles’s music wouldn’t be a source of inspiration for artists decades later. Edgar Allen Poe’s writings wouldn’t be sire to the movements that carried on through the ages and created the greatest horror movies we’ve had to date. That’s only naming a few. Artistry and talent, such as it is, is something to be shared with the masses and not withheld for political reasons.

What we have in Chris Brown is this generation’s Michael Jackson. All who have paid attention, and I mean real attention, can bear witness to the raw, multifaceted talent this young man brings to the table. Who, in this day and age of tin can musicians, can sit in a studio for a few hours and start with nothing but a few cords and emerge with songs that capture the beauty of human emotion, grab a microphone and get on stage to sing his heart out, managing to dance and keep a crowd of serious magnitude wholly entertained and engaged the whole time?

We aren’t asking for any great act of faith on your part. All we want is to be heard and to have his music freed for us to enjoy. We the fans, we the consumers, we are a living breathing entity that deserves the respect of being heard too. Respectfully we ask that you do just that and lift the ban on Chris’s music and return him to regular rotation.

Anyone who’s confused on how to use it – just block it and do copy function on your computer, open up Word and open a blank screen, and paste the text into your new screen/document. You got it, in Word. Save. I would edit your documents a bit, so they do look a bit different, but whatever. Print out copies, and give out to anyone you know who will mail or fax them to station. Adress them to station managers and DJs. Send an AVALANCHE OF letters – well, at least 10/day, everyday. Mix it up so it doesn’t all look like one crazy person. We gotta do this where the songs are not EVEN on the request lists.

I just went back and re-read some stuff – the suggestion was to email it letter. Give that a try, but can you get their email/s? iI’m having trouble accessing those. Even getting fax #s, I’m gonna pull some tricks to get them- call and ask for different reason.

I have been requesting on my local stations her in Alabama. They are still playing Chris’s old music ( I hear Kiss Kiss and Gimme That) every few days on the hip hop/rb station. But, they don’t play the new stuff. I heard I can transform ya on the radio only once when it 1st came out.

Suggestion: try to make it look like your requests are not all coming from just YOU. Their reaction would be that this is just about a couple of crazy CB-fans out there doing this. We gotta get others we know to help (or make it LOOK like a lot of different people are doing this – I enter my name and age differently each time!)

If I’m being real, I think “Chris Brown” really needs to go away for a few years, maybe five. During those five years, he needs to take the money he still has and go to school, get a Bachelors, and invest the rest of the money, and invest it where he can. I’m just saying this because I really want him to succeed, as we all know nothing last forever. While he is at it, he can also start a new ride of singing lessons, just to really perfect his voice. There’s a lot of things he can improve, and work on. You can’ t say you LOVE what you do, and then go and say, but I can’t be an underground mix tape artist. Everyone will have to face the reality of it all, especially his fans, but I really think he needs to work on himself, long term, not sure, and I’m sure he’ll bounce back.

Another thing, if you guys haven’t noticed, Jive has completely given up on him, hence all the self promoting through websites, and blogs, Twitter, and through fans. Jive isn’t backing him anymore, and that’s another why he is not getting any radio love.

The fans can sit and vote, request, and complain, but nothing will occur if he doesn’t have Jive backing him at radio. His fan-base has shrunk, making even it harder, he needs Jive, and they are not doing anything for him as far as radio because they have given up.

Fans please stop beating yourself over this, and research on business politics.

@ Kathy: It seems like your intentions are good, but the advice of him “going away for FIVE years” is a bit ridiculous. I don’t think he should have dropped an album so soon, but I don’t think it’s necessary for him to completely go away. He just really has to be patient and ride this out. He’s not doing nearly as badly as he COULD have been doing, but he’s not selling on the same level that he’s accustomed to. He’s pretty much been on a pedestal for most of his career and I just don’t think he knows how to process this. If anything he probably should have been a ghostwriter and/or featured on other artists tracks for a year or so, he’s a talented songwriter so he definitely has the ability to ghostwrite.

As far as Jive Records, from what I’ve heard Chris Brown (and Jive) are currently in the works to sign him to Young Money. I’m not a hardcore Lil Wayne fan or anything like that, but if he had that squad behind him (Wayne, Drake, Nicki Minaj) his songs would be playing and he’d definitely be selling more. This would completely revitalize his career/image and he would no longer be stifled so much as an artist.

@Shalanda you are right Chris is going to have to ride this out, it’s kind of slow but it is much better than where he was this time last year. Everybody is running their head off with effing rumors. Nobody knows what’s going on with Chris but his inner circle, management team and Jive. If anybody is posting and is not part of that team then it just opinions, rumors and gossip. Opinions are like assholes, everybody got one but who really give a shit about yours. To even suggest Chris go away for five years is crazy. An artist career is lucky to be five years. If he disappeared like some of you suggested his career would be over. So he got into an effed up situation, he faced it no need to hide from it. Have any of you ever management an artist who has been in a situation like Chris? The mgt team is back to selling Chris to promoters like he is a new artist? They got to convince people that he is not the monster and bad boy that the media made him out to be. Most people know he is not the monster but they can’t take a chance on the backlash at them until things have settled down more for him. The tide is turning so all he has to do is to let his work speak for him be patience and continue on being the good person he is. All his fans should do is buy his music, request his music on the radio, stay out of his personal life and stop posting negative stuff about Chris on his fansite. Put your fingers to work by going to Itunes and buy his new singles that are on there.

Request his music on the radio, his video(s) on BET/MTV/etc, buy his album, download his singles, buy tickets to his shows, go out and support the movies he will be in. You can’t just idly sit by and be a cyber fan behind your keyboard.

Signing with Young Money isn’t the smartest decision. He needs to stay with Jive, but if they stop supporting him, nothing that the fans, or supporters do will help him out. Jive needs to be behind him, because they’re a big part in getting his material out on radio (among with many other things), as far any other artist. I’d rather him sign with Interscope.

Lloyd is on the label and he has a strong fan base. Being knowledgeable about music industry politics or not, that is my OPINION.
