R&B singer/songwriter Chris Brown is reportedly thankful to all who have supported him throughout his felony assault case.

“He’s very thankful to all the people who’ve been very supportive. This is a kid who’s never been in trouble before, who wants to move past this…,” says Brown’s attorney Mark Geragos.

Geragos’ statement follows Brown’s decision to plead guilty of felony assault in exchange for an adjusted sentence that includes no jail time and the dropping of a ‘making criminal threats’ charge Monday.

Since February, Brown has been embattled with numerous court dates and a mirage of ‘bad’ press including the loss of radio airplay and endorsement deals — all stemming from his assault on fellow entertainer Rihanna.

While there has been mixed reaction, when it comes to the verdict, attorney Mark Geragos implies that Brown will make sure “the message gets out” that domestic violence is “not acceptable”.

“He has accepted responsibility and continues to do so and embraces this as an opportunity for him to get his life back on track and his career back on track.”

Chris Brown is due for official sentencing August 5.

That poll is interesting. The Domestic Violence Program Chris is going to have to go to and those hours of “hard labor” (as TMZ put it) will keep him occupied for that said year people want him to take off from the spotlight.

Chris has been through a lot emotionally … this kind of pressure he’s been under takes it toll. He needs to regroup, be with his family, focus on getting these legalities taken care of and get back on track.

He’s under contract so the releasing of music is inevitable. But he should only release his next album under the right timing … some things can’t be rushed. And I’m glad that Jive is clearing it up about these leaks, too.

I think he needs to NOT release a single in the summer though, and maybe hold off until christmas or until next year. Whatever he does should be from the heart. In my opinion, he shouldh’t have to do anything, although I know that’s a bit of wishful thinking. I’m sick of those that call themselves fans mandating an agenda for him.

No one knows the depths of pain and anguish he’s felt and been thru. We didn’t live it. It’s a discussion to us. It’s his reality. He’s going to do what he, his family and that jerk of a lawyer sees fit. Some of you need to face facts and grow up. For some of these haters it will never be enough. A lot of the “public” didn’t know who the hell Chris Brown was. Those that jumped on the “I Hate Chris” bandwagon had agendas to begin with. And for some of them short of him killing himself nothing he does is going to be good enough ever.

As I said there is no doubt that Chris will give his little “mea culpa” speech (look it up).
He’s going to have to do things that I probably don’t agree with. I hope it falls short of groveling for the public. I hope he’s able to keep his dignity. I don’t want to see him break down for anyone. He’ll probably speak after his sentencing (I cringe). Whateva.

It will take at least six months for him to get himself together emotionally…that’s a long time by music industry standards. He can’t just disappear. The public is fickle and by then the new “it guy” will probably be on the scene. (although it’s funny that no one has stepped up in has absence). So his album has to be the real sh*t. I still think he will drop a single soon. The whole cd may come a bit later. As long as his FANS hold him up he can’t fail!

So, however he handles himself in terms of giving his speech/apology, I’m still a ride or die fan and I only hope the best for him moving on with his life and future endeavors.

If he leaves now on a negative note like this, the last thing people will remember of him will be the incident, and that’s all he will be remembered for. And plus, if the new song is extra hot, that’ll leave them wanting more, so when Chris returns from the six months, they’ll be missing him.

Stop bugging over shit that doesn’t matter. Sure he may not be the arc of holiness and sure he may have his faults, but it’s for him to deal with, not you. If he didn’t physically or emotionally harmed or threaten any one of the public or any one of the fans, then why do you feel he owes us an apology?

Chris does not OWE the public an apology for the ones who he owe an apology to is God, Rihanna, and his family. That’s it! I believe he has already apologize to the latter, so he doesn’t owe any additional apologies.

As for him taking a year off, I don’t think a time frame should be placed on what he can and cannot do. However, I feel he should focus on God, himself, the orders given to him by the court and his music. Whether he wants to put music out is left up to him and him alone. Music can be soothing and uplift him through the good and bad times.

I am patient of his arrival back to the music scene, whenever that may be, and respectful of his decisions to get back on the right track emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

Hello everyone my name is jazz. I’m new but I’m a huge fan of chris so I just want to make a comment. Personally I belive putting an album out this year is waayyy to soon,

In regards to Chris and his case, I’ve stopped depending on the media for information. I’ve peeped their game a long time ago. They have an agenda.
And, there are definitely holes in this story. The fact that we’ve been hearing this and that from everybody except Chris and Rihanna should tell you all something.

I feel the judge should have given Rihanna 52 weeks DV classes and anger management class also. She started that fight and was able to walk away with Chris having to take the entire punishment. Mark my words Rihanna is going to regret how she did Chris and not telling the entire truth what happened in that car that night. She didn’t have to get on the stand to tell the truth and for this she think she will have the blessing and support of the world but Ms. Fenty is going to see how the world can change on you in the bleak of an eye. Something is going to happen or come out and she will not be able to play this victim role she did in this case. Whoopi was right when she said and everyone clapped in the audience their is more to this story and the judge knows it because normally judges don’t tell the victim stay away only the abuser…she hasn’t escaped anything…you reap what you sow.

I am not tying to be funny, but I remember on this year Grammys after E Channel announced breaking news on Chris assaulting Rihanna before her name came out they said he assaulted an unidentify woman. I flipped the channel to see something else on because I wasn’t planing on seeing the Grammys and on Lifetime Channel they played Tina Turner’s What’s Love Got To Do It. I thought that was pretty ironic.

@Nadia I just read the Rolling Stone article they are speculating about if Chris’ career will survive this drama. Most experts say yes if he speaks out about the incident in a “I’m so sorry” manner and delivers a hit song. Of course there are hateful bloggers who are betting that he will violate his probation and go to prison because he’s too young to take the pressure of the “straight and narrow” but they are just haters. Chris is going to do what ever he has to do to stay in the game. He doesn’t really strike me as the druggy type. NE way Rolling Stone is not saying anything new. We know Chris will be fine. Forget the haters. Chris is prayed up between his fans, friends, and family.

oh. my. goodness. I’m only fifteen and have not been that overly exposed to MJ’s work, but I’m over here crying rivers for two reasons; that man was talented beyond belief and I’m also thinking; what if this was Chris? And I can’t even bare to think about that.

Chris, I know this was a huge blow, but MJ is in a better place and he will not be forgotten. Think of it as you and other RnB artists’ duty to continue to breathe MJ into your music and performances. Wish I could be with you; I would give you a big hug and just be there to comfort you after this tragedy.
