 LOS ANGELES – Chris Brown’s felony assault case is about to enter a key phase.
The R&B singer is due back in court Monday afternoon for a preliminary hearing that could feature testimony from Rihanna and a crucial ruling by a judge in Los Angeles.
Brown was arrested in February on suspicion of hitting and threatening then-girlfriend Rihanna after a pre-Grammy party.
A judge will decide after listening to testimony whether the case against Brown should continue to trial.
Dozens of reporters have signed up to cover Monday’s hearing, which is expected to last several hours.
Rihanna’s attorney, Donald Etra, says the 21-year-old singer will appear and testify if she is called to the stand.

As much as I hate TMZ, I looked on their website when I was googling Chris brown and they are claiming that a plea bargian is close. I dont know how true that is, but that’s what they are saying.

Well…at least it’s over and the media can crawl back into their holes after today. On second thought I am so sure they will try to get footage of him doing his “hard labor” in VA. he took a plead deal to do six months of community service wtf..the judge states i wanted chris to be treated like any other person..bitch are you stupid rihanna doesnt even want chris to stay away from her..this is bullshit at its finest but aleast he is not in jail

The other mess pisses me off, but my main concern was him staying out of jail.
I honestly think they did this for Rihanna’s benefit because if she had testified, her career would really, really be damaged. So either Chris turned into a total softie all of a sudden or Riri really is a bitch. I hate that Chris has to have any punishment, but the worst part is only for six months, and aft going through all of this, it goes faster than I thought. Probation, on the other hand, is just somebody monitering him, I think. Hopefully they’ll just blend in with the rest of his posses but I’ll have to look into it more.
On the other hand, now, we have some power over what happens next; getting the public opinion to turn in Chris’s favor. We need to be everywhere we can, defending our boy and confronting them with what we know. Buy the album, buy the singles, and everything in between until he is back on top!
