A source involved in the investigation is speaking to Hollyscoop exclusively about the details surrounding the night of the alleged attack, and what Rihanna really told police in her statement. Hollyscoop has the scoop on never before published details surrounding the Chris Brown and Rihanna assault investigation below…

New Details Surrounding Police Report

Contrary to what sites like TMZ had previously reported, Rihanna did not tell police that she was the victim of “escalating violence.” TMZ reported: “Multiple law enforcement sources tell TMZ, the night of the attack Rihanna told cops she was the victim of escalating violence — and the perp was Brown.”

However, a source involved in the investigation tells Hollyscoop exclusively that in the reports, Rihanna confessed there has only been two other incidences in which she felt threatened, but this was the first time Chris retaliated. Rihanna told investigators that the first incident occurred in Europe three months ago. It was a verbal dispute, which led to Rihanna slapping Chris Brown. In self-defense, Chris put her up “against the wall” and told her to calm down.

The second incident occurred when the couple was visiting Rihanna’s family in her native Barbados back in August 2008. She described the incident as a verbal dispute, and added that no one was assaulted. According to the source involved in the investigation, the night of the alleged attack, Rihanna attacked Chris after reading a text message sent to him by a former lover.

The situation escalated and resulted in Chris’ alleged attack on Rihanna. Chris turned himself over to the LAPD on February 8 and was booked and later released on $50,000 bail.

The Call for Help

Although initial reports suggested that a female made the call to police, according to the report, it was a Rabbi who lives in the area. The unidentified man reportedly heard the confrontation outside and called 911, not knowing he was about to make a report about R&B’s biggest stars. He came outside when he heard shouting. “She was screaming out of control and he was extremely calm,” read his statement, adding that Rihanna “was not screaming for help, she was just screaming.”

Why She Took Him Back

Rihanna’s family and friends were all shocked to learn that she had forgiven Chris and the couple had reunited. After experiencing a very public fall out, why would she take him back? The answer is simple: “She loves him,” says a close friend.

The couple started communicating with each other while Rihanna was in Punta Mita, Mexico with friends celebrating her 21st birthday a few weeks ago, says our source.

One week later they reunited at P.Diddy’s $18 million mansion in Miami to work through their issues. Diddy’s ultra private home served as the ideal meeting spot for the couple, but he was not involved in the reconciliation. Diddy, who was in L.A. at the time, heard that Chris was going to be in Miami “working on music” so he offered up his home. But that was the extent of it.

Family members and insiders cite the couple’s immaturity, she’s 21 and he’s 19, as the reason for why they fight so often. And the same factor could be used to explain why they are getting back together. Meanwhile, a source close to Rihanna tells Hollyscoop that reports that the couple got married in Miami are “100% false.” She is also not pregnant with his child.

How Will This Info Affect Chris’ Trial?

A Los Angeles based attorney that is not involved in the trial tells Hollyscoop that Rihanna’s police statement can be used as “exculpatory evidence used to lessen the charges against [Brown] in court.”

It will be used to justify or excuse an accused defendant’s actions (Chris Brown), which will tend to show the defendant is not guilty or has no criminal intent. Rihanna’s lawyer Donald Etra said she could wind up testifying in the felony assault case, but only if she’s required to. “She is planning to do everything that the law requires her to do,” Etra said in a statement to the media. “If she’s required to. “She is planning to do everything that the law requires her to do,” Etra said in a statement to the media. “If she is required to testify, she will do so.”

Another thing: A plea of “not guilty” doesn’t necessarily mean “I’m innocent”. Certainly, in some cases, it does. But a plea of “not guilty”, especially in Chris’s case, would mean more “I did do it, but not in cold blood. There were extenuating circumstances”. As in, he was defending himself. :/

I was watching CNN this evening and they were up in arms about the cheers that Christopher was receiving as he was walking into court yesterday. Regardless of the situation at hand he is STILL Chris Brown — the multi-platinum entertainer, and he still has fans that are supportive of him. I just wish that the media would stop trying to paint this horrible picture of him, because prior to this incident we’ve never heard anything negative about him! I’m somewhat disappointed in how Dr. Phil, Oprah and Tyra have all handled this situation. All three have met Chris before and all thought he was nice/charming/respectful, etc. and they should have given their input on his character instead of helping to demonize him for ratings. And the way that the industry is we all would have heard something about his behavior a long time ago if he was really such a terrible person.

I honestly think that you can tell how a man will treat his significant other based on how he treats his mother. Based on everything that I’ve read or watched on tv I can tell that Christopher loves his mother dearly. If I recall correctly, wasn’t his first major purchase a house for his mother? It must be killing him inside to be labeled the type of man that he probably hates the most.

I think that this is an isolated incident and he just simply lost it. I honestly do not think that he had been abusing Robyn. If that were the case then why would she go out of her way to be with him when he’s on tour in Europe? A woman that is being abused would be happy that her abuser is far away from her, and from the numerous pictures of them it seems as though they were inseparable. Also, if he had previously abused her there is no way she would have taken the liberty to go through his cell phone, pretend to call the police or proceed to sit on his car keys after the alleged incident. If any of what was stated within the affidavit had actually occurred she would have done anything to get away from him, instead of putting herself in the situation of having to be stranded with him on the side of the road late at night. She needs to speak out and tell the truth about things. If he’s never been abusive towards her, then she needs to let that be known asap!!

I do not think that he needs to spend any time in jail. He has never been in trouble with the law before, and he should have received misdemeanors. If he goes to jail he will just become bitter. He is only 19 years old — he can still change and I definitely believe that he has learned from this experience! He needs to receive probation, community service, take some anger management classes (which he is already doing), pay a fine and perhaps donate some of the proceeds from his next album to a foundation that focuses on helping battered women. And maybe he can even start his own foundation that helps children who have themselves witnessed domestic violence as he did. In addition Robyn needs to take anger management classes as well. If they decide that they want to work things out as a couple, they definitely need to attend couples therapy and maybe make time in their schedules to attend church together.

@folawe…you should know that my statement was to John. I was saying that women should not hit men. I was rephrasing his gender-biased statement and concluding that he should be just as angry if two lesbians get into it because he/john and others and not be hypocrites. Rihanna chose on two important occasions to stay in the car. She refused to get out when he wanted her to and then she sat on keys instead of just getting out of the car. My take is that she would rather try to force him to be with her then allow him to leave her and possibly see his ex. People who fear for there lives get out of cars not stay in them. Notbiased, you really have summed up pretty much everything that doesn’t add up within this case.
Everyone has been so quick to throw Chris under the bus, saying that “if he really loved her, he wouldn’t of hit her”.
While that may be applicable in some cases, I don’t think it’s fair for this one. I mean, Chris was in the driver’s seat in a mobile car when the fight started. He was completely at a disadvantage. Like Folawe said, he wasn’t really at liberty to get up and walk away. If the fight was in a house or outside I could better understand that point of view. But it wasn’t. It was inside a car, which is a confined space, when it broke out.
And, referring back to the “if he really loved her, he wouldn’t have hit her” thing, what about her? What gave her the right to hit him? I can understand that she was upset over the text message, but, like everyone seems to be saying to Chris, there are better ways to deal with anger. That very insightful person, who will remain unidentified, is right on so many levels.
I’ve been saying forever that Mr. Etra was not on Chris’ side, but on Rihanna’s hush hush side. It isn’t just her though, it’s the whole industry. Plain and simple- those people revolve around money. It’s like they feed off it. Ever wonder how we still have millionaires and billionaires when we’re in a recession? It’s cause those greedy, and for nicer terms, ‘people’ refuse to let go of what makes them so ‘mighty’ and powerful. Although, I am happy that the article posted by Vibe and the commenter is shedding light on what really happened in their relationship and what’s happening now. People need to know that both Chris and Robyn have feelings and that both need support, no matter how bitchy I think the chick is, she needs help too. Chris will eventually have to sit down in public and tell what happened, so a trial gives a chance for the TRUTH to be told. If he takes a plea, i’m sure even when he addresses the public, parts of the truth will still be hidden for Rihanna’s sake. If he ever decides to really say what happened, people will accuse him of lying and will ask why he didn’t opt for a trial if HE was so innocent. It would be hard to drive a stick shift and repeatedly punch someone. Not to mention move both your left and right feet while driving. You folks are aware that when you are driving a stick, you need to use both of your feet instead of just the right foot like in an automatic vehicle. I like y-l as well. I find the fans are over there are older and they bring a lot more insight into things than you find on other CB sites. In most instances they are right in their analysis of situations. Jess is just Jess I don’t have a problem with her or her “gang” Most of the time I either agree with her or disagree with her I just form my own opinion. I don’t take hers whole sale nor do I try to force mine on her.
