I like Glow in the Dark for the next album. Except the first verse, that is. That needs to be rewritten, I think, to match the sophistication of the second verse. There is just something about that first verse that is just off. Like, if you have to tell me that you are thinking about something ‘sexual’, then there is no imagery/mystery and it’s not sexy anymore. Know what I mean?

The second verse had me all kinds a twisted in my head. Like, yo, the images wth me and my loved one just flooded my brain. Goosebumps and sh*t. And thats what you want the lyrics of a song to do to you. Make you feel something. The second verse is all sorts of sexy without trying. The first verse? Not so much.

So, I vote Glow in the Dark BUT with a re-worked first verse.

@LA Love I still don’t see how airing all their dirty laundry in a trial would benefit anyone. He can take a plea and then tell his story in an interview with a reputable show. It will be just as effective, but less risky. So many things can come up in a public trial that the media will take and spin negatively for Chris all day long. If he sits down with say Diane Sawyer or Robin Roberts on Good Morning America or an evening special with Barbara Walters to tell his side it will be far better than a trial. Please God NO TRIAL. 1. I am pleased to see that you and I agree that we are all here to support Chris Brown. But, we are also not Pollyanas. We have differing opinions and we are not afraid to share them. We also should not be afriad to hear dissenting points of view. I love to hear others’ viewpoints and engage in robust discourse as long as it’s civil. It is how the real world operates.

2. Fortunately, there can be no hearsay with respect to my intentions for writing here. My words have been recorded on this site in black and white. The moderators can determine for themselves whether or not your characterization of my words and intentions are true. I have made a grand total of 3 posts thus far. This would constitue the fourth.

3. You and I can also agree that there are so many good things to say about Chris Brown the man, the humanitarian, the singer, the songwriter, the producer, the actor, the dancer…so much to say that we do not have to resort to denigrating Rihanna to make him look good. She is young person caught up in a bad situation too. She is not some abstract entity. She is a living breathing human being too. Surely, we can find some empathy for her even as we support Chris.

You and I can agree that you can’t hold a good and talented man down. That Chris will come back but it’s going to take a lot of work and time on his and his PR team’s part, and a resolve on the part of his supporters to stick around. And, in my opinion, it will not matter if he stays with Rihanna or not. He seems to be that talented and dedicated to his art and his supporters seem to appreciate that. So, it will not matter what the situation is with Rihanna.

Think about it Jess, there are people who are going to harbor some resentment towards this gentleman for a long time. Even after he takes the necessary steps to make amends, in a private way to Rihanna, and in a public way to those whom he may have disappointed. So, I don’t see the need to bash or blame Rihanna for anything. It is time for us to move beyond the blame stage.

Let Chris and Rihanna do whatever they want. Stay together? Don’t stay together? I don’t care. I just want some banging hits. I kust want them to get back to entertaining.

Finally:
As for Candy, you and his other fans, I am impressed that you guys have done so much for Chris. Honestly, I would have neither the time nor the inclination to do it. In the little spare time I create for music, I find a 5 minute or 10 minute here and there to offer my perspective on this situation. Not because I care so much that Rihanna and Chris stay together, but because I think it is wrong to try to stereotype a 19 year old boy for making a mistake. He has his whole life ahead of him. When I write, I am poimting out the flaws in the system that created the furor around this case. Let him and his mama sort out his personal life. I am not in the Love Advice business.

If this goes to trial there is the possibility of a biased jury and more importantly chris can be found guilty and if so will have to serve near five years. He can prove what he did. His lawyer has a copy of his statement to police (although it may not say too much if he was coached appropriately). He should only go to trial if he and his team know that without a shadow of a doubt that there will be no bench trial (the judge will hear and decide everything instead) and if he knows that he will be found innocent. Keep in mind though that OJ was acquitted and mainstream never let it go. As far as they are concerned, he (OJ) killed her. So even if this goes to trial, mainstream still may not believe the verdict or let the “woman beater” title go because they were given too much questionable information to begin with. Even still, the public has yet to sit back and analyze this case because they are to caught up in the juicy details. And unfortunately most of them do not seek truth. They are looking at the affidavit and picture and saying “Oh, how horrible!” Instead of using their critical thinking skills to notice that some of that affidavit seems suspect of bullcrap. Keep in mind though, because most of us are CB supporters, we are choosing to think outside of the box with this case. Had he been anyone else some of us may not have devoted so much time doing the research about the law and publically pointing out the biases of the media. Some of us may have been right along with the other running our mouths like Oprah. On the other hand, I am a truth-seeker for everything but I must admit I have become very passionate about the truth surrounding this case because of my appeal for CB. My point is if people do not care about the individual that is being bashed by the media then going to trial will not change too much.
